How to feel less guilty about spending money on myself ?

I agree with the other commenter! I just want to share that I also grew up in poverty with the same family situation as you: no objection to spending $.

My therapist and I figured out that my mom’s spending habits (who was my role model for self care) were unhealthy and that my siblings and I probably grew up in poverty partially due to her spending $ on trips, clothes, cars, restaurants, bars, etc. there’s more but I won’t go into it, my family just loves spending money lol.

I think it’s healthy to spend it on things that increase your quality of life, like I’ll buy more expensive groceries to fill out my healthy recipes, and I bought both a yoga and a gym pass this year, + nice yoga pants and shoes to work out in that will hopefully last. I just think it’s something you should be conscious of because honestly, it’s easy to rationalize everything as making your quality of life better
