How do I handle this guest?

I unfortunately suffer from a disease that causes me to take broken things apart, find the source of the trouble, and fix them. I'm highly allergic to giving my hard earned money to someone else when I can do it myself. Some people think I'm frugal, but if I had to tell the truth, I'd tell you that I'm a cheap bastard.

I'm also a smart ass. The smart ass part of me wants to ask if perhaps your internet search engine is broken. But the Wait... Stop... Too many people get offended when you do that! part of me says, "Don't do it... you'll piss someone off, and they won't get it!" So I'll just do it for you.

I'm guessing that "The type of blinds where parts move right and left" means that you've got Vertical Blinds. I did a simple internet search using Bing (Because I don't use Google, because Google Is Evil!) using the words DIY Vertical Blind Repair, and Blam-O...

You should try it... There are all sorts of places where you can find what you need. And they've got handy repair instructions as well.

You've got guests, and you've got things. Guests are going to break things. They're the same things that are going to break in your own home. The only difference is when you break it, you say "Aw Crap... I need to fix that.... But right now I need to go to the beach!" But when a guest does it you'll say "Aw Shit.... That stupid son of a bitch broke my perfectly good thing.... and I've got some guests checking in tomorrow... I need to fix that right effing now.... Shit! Shit... Shit.... Shit... Shit... SHIT!!!"

You can fix it. You really can. You can probably fix it a lot faster than you can get AirBnB to help you open a claim, and then tell you that the guest isn't going to pay, and they're not going to help you. If you file a claim, the guest is going to get pissed, and leave you a bad review. If you apologize to your guest and tell them that you understand.... "Things happen... It's probably not your fault... don't feel bad about it... I'll deal with it... Thanks for staying with us!" And then fix the blinds yourself you'll be a lot better off.
