How do I get my daughter’s school to help her without sounding like an asshole?

First, relax. You have time. Most initial gifted assessment happens between Kindergarten and Third Grade.

Second, if your child is gifted, realize that you're probably not going to be able to help her in the way you believe you can.

The most important thing a neurotypical parent can provide a gifted child is not advocacy but freedom from worry and access to curiosity.

The schooling will catch up, what you need to do is work on building a calm and stable environment where she can be a kid and then fill that environment with as many opportunities for her to simply explore her curiosity as possible.

As for you personally, if you want to go back to work, you're going to need to learn to delegate in a way that reduces your anxiety.
