For sure, but unfortunately, lots of professions nowadays are only accessible through degrees, certificates....or connections.

I have been recommended to look into an advisor for school so I do think I will do that!

Definitely, but it's always an additional challenge if you're in an unfamiliar area where you basically have zero support network, other than your partner. For some people, this is not an issue, but for others, it's a huge one.
