The Jews didn’t follow the Ten Commandments, one of which is “Thou shall not murder”. Now, in context, God telling you to kill someone was not murder. However, Jesus recognizes this and he tells the Jews that they are children of lies who follow the Father of lies. He doesn’t say who the father of lies was though, he just says the FOL started with murder. Prior to the Ten Commandments, murder wasn’t against the rules, per se, however Moses was told “thou shall not murder” before he broke the tablets. He proceeds to order the killing of 3000 as a punishment. GOD NEVER ORDERED THIS. God was going to kill ALL the Israelites and start over but Moses pointed out that was EVIL and God REPENTS. Moses took it upon himself to murder 3000 people. Jesus believed Abraham was the proper Father of the Jewish faith and that Moses was a murdering liar who the Jews followed wrongly, and that all murder is wrong, which is why he replaced the Ten Commandments with two: 1) love God 2) Love your neighbor.
