"HRT doesn't solve everything", so what else helps?

Lots has been said that is great

I'll add a few things:

  1. Squats - all the squats in all the ways- really build out that lower body and remember - you will add muscle quicker without HRT so its a great time to get to squatting now to build a solid foundation for the fat to be laid down after HRT.
  2. Therapy - all the therapy - therapy makes us all better at life and is the single most important part of my transition. I still go once a week and it is hugely important.
  3. I found HRT a bit underwhelming as I had already been full time for 3 years prior. I enjoyed some of the changes ( added a few inches to thighs and butt) but it has not been giant things - mostly life is very much the same as it was before.
  4. I burned up money trying to find my style - you may not find it over night and I would recommend just trying to find one outfit or two outfits that feel good - wear those on repeat while you figure out what you want to look like in the world.
  5. Think of HRT as one possible intervention for gender stuff - there are countless others that can also assist in living the life you want to live. Getting my brows shaped was a huge, finding confidence to be in public, learning to care for myself in loving ways....
