I've been on Reddit for over a year, so I don't know it's history as well as you. I can apply what I've learned during my comparatively short time, though.

First, what may have changed over the years is the recognition of how popular and influential Reddit is as a media phenomena. This means that all industries and politicians have staffers who scan Reddit to see if there are any posts related to their businesses or their political goals, etc. They are paid to post here and to try to influence the discussion. If it's a political issue, they may actually organize several shill accounts to congregate on certain threads and outnumber the opposition.

If you get downvoted for your posts protesting Israel's policies, you may be downvoted by lobbyists who are attempting to influence the debate - they could be from our right wing, Israel's right wing, or the Israel lobby. Who knows? All are possibilities.

Besides that, I read some of your past posts so as to better understand why you might be getting downvotes. Besides the inevitable downvotes if you argue against Israeli policies, I see that you posts often show displays of anger.

Displays of anger often get me downvoted, so you might be running into that as well.

I noticed that you were frustrated when people tell you that there are "two-sides". You obviously don't really agree with that, and so that creates a problem on Reddit. If you don't really believe there is another perspective, than you won't be able to have a balanced discussion, and so you will get downvoted.

Sometimes, like you, I just want to advocate for a position, rather than debate the point. Sometimes I want to influence the discussion so that my point of view will prevail. That may get votes if there are others who feel the same way - then it becomes a "team sport" where there are two sides trying to "win". Throw in some shills and lobbyists, and you can will encounter the "dark side" of Reddit, where it's true intent has been subverted.

Anyway, I hope you don't give up!
