if you were a pull-string doll what would your catch phrases be?

Bud, you have no clue what you're talking about. You haven't read Leo Tolstoy's What is Art? and therefore haven't the first fucking clue with which ethical/aesthetic criteria he was dismissive of Shakespeare. You haven't read the Polemics, or Orwell's Lear, Tolstoy, and the Fool. You don't, for example, know another great artist Tolstoy dismissed, or why. You aren't making an effort to truly digest or engage in an ongoing dialogue so much as corroding it. But perhaps you're over-rating Tolstoy as the greatest novelist of all time. He's just old, therefore people think he's good. Tolstoy's realism/historicist fiction is just the same as Captain America's set design.

I could drop so much advanced literary jargon on you, it would make your head spin, but I won't. Instead, I'll simply point out that you don't know what any of the different modes of criticism are, or how they seize upon texts. You've never read and don't know who people like Northrop Frye, Harold Bloom, or W.H Auden are- and those are just the biggies. You've read/seen next to no Shakespeare, if any. Certainly not scholastically. You googled some shit about Shakespeare and copy/pasted something Leo Tolstoy wrote that you have no basis for understanding. You- yes the dumb, blind, sheltered little product of the culture industry that you are, contribute to our world's and arts' degradation. (You don't even know what that means because you don't know what the Frankfurt School is). You insult what you're ignorant about. And that's a really shitty thing to do. I suggest you take an honest personal inventory, and then try to make something better of yourself. Because right now, you're pretty fucking disgusting to read. Honestly, I think you should be ashamed of yourself, and should consider apologizing to this thread.
