I think I'm prediabetic and I'm scared

One hour is not the standard, but helps you see the arc. Take your glucose before eating, too, so you can see how high you are rising. Like are you over 100 all of the time?

Yes, you gestational diabetes can certainly be an early sign of developing diabetes overall. Sometime it is Type 2, sometimes it is Type 1 (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adults, LADA). So, just follow up with your doctors. Get an HbA1C test.

You see in this thread, several people come here every day with similar symptoms and questions.... Actually, they may have been deleted because asking if you are diabetic is akin to asking strangers for a diagnosis. Which is impossible.

So, go to the doctors! Make them listen to you and take your seriously. Get the HbA1C; if it is agreed that you are "pre-diabetic," then you may also ask for C-peptide and/or auto-antibody tests for Type 1. It's your right to know.

But your post will be deleted soon by the admins. So, hope you find out more and come back and share more if you are indeed diagnosed. Don't put it off, stop being anxious about it -- you just need (and deserve) diagnostic tests. Deal with it when you have a more definitive answer.
