Insurance was annoying but I finally got the dexcom! I'ma cyborg now!!

I’m type 1 honeymooning rn so only on long acting insulin.

It makes sense to me why only people taking multiple insulin shots per day are the ones who get the Dexcom covered. When you aren’t taking lots of insulin, you aren’t really at risk for lows, and I think the beauty of the Dexcom is that it has alarms for lows. If you’re not at risk of dropping low without knowing, why would the Dexcom be needed over the freestyle Libre 14 day system? It’s just an extra expense because you WANT the extra bells and whistles. I know I don’t NEED a Dexcom rn, I’m fine with the cheaper glucose monitor, so I get why it’s not covered for everyone. The company kinda has a point IMO… though that’s not to say insurance can still be really fucky a lot of the time.
