Inspired by Brandon Katz tweet: You're a studio executive who is trying to launch the next big budget PG-13 blockbuster franchise. The goal is relative four-quadrant appeal à la Marvel but it isn't a comic book property. What movie, writer, director, and cast would you make and pick?

Free Ideas:

Universal: Live action Exo-Squad directed by Justin Lin. Or written and directed by
Tony Gilroy. Cast, whoever Sarah Haley Finn picks. They also bought a script for Princess Avengers a few years ago that they are sitting on that sounded cool.

20th Century: Reboot sequel of Aliens. First two movies are cannon. Written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Or a sequel to True Lies by one of the Marvel directors.

WB: Wizarding World movie set in modern America about the US Wizard school. Or modern UK with an American that moves to London when his dad is transferred to the UK. Or live action ThunderCats.

Sony: Final Fantasy. An original story that uses all the tropes. Tonally like 7 and 10. Or Parasite Eve.

Paramount: Either reboot TNG or do the Next Next Generation in the start of the 25th century. It's a political thriller like Star Trek 6, but still has some big budget action scenes.

Disney: Live action adaptation of Rescue Rangers. This would be PG. Or tap into the EU of Star Wars. It's a goldmine of untapped potential if you sift through the shit. Or an animated adventure with the Princesses from Ralph Breaks the Internet.
