[IP] The Last Human

It all started with an accident. All bad things start with an accident.

A young family was the victim. The screeching sound of the sirens always follows an accident but this time, the sirens were too late. The mother was already found dead, the father died on the way to the hospital, and the sister would be in a vegetative state forever, until the doctors pulled the plug eight years later. But a young boy survived the horrific accident. He had to get his left leg amputated, but that was the small price of surviving.

However, soon after the amputation, the stump got infected and soon the infection was on his entire body. Despite the doctor's efforts, it would seem that all the effort was for nothing and the boy would most certainly die.

A doctor thought of an idea that was certainly considered crazy at that time. He wondered if engineers could construct a robotic body where the doctors would place all vital organs in. It was like the organs were moving into a new home.

The other doctors only agreed because it was this boy's last chance at living.

Against all odds, operation worked. And therefore the first cyber-human was created.

Four decades years later, there was an epidemic that spread all over the world. The only places that weren't affected was Madagascar and Greenland, due to the overreaction from the government. The disease first affects the skin, then slowly devours your organs. The doctors never found a disease anything like this.

The doctors used the same technique that saved the life of a boy, four decades ago, to save the lives of the infected. The doctors could only save a patients that was diagnosed recently. If they didn't, the patient's organs would be already damaged. During the epidemic, they created more cyber-humans with more durable bodies and more capabilities than the average human. The epidemic, however, had no signs of stopping and soon enough, the doctors became infected and the doctors were performing surgeries to their co-workers.

At the end of the epidemic, only 0.1% of the world's population wasn't infected.

The last humans had a stigma attached to them. They were considered weak and inferior by cyber-humans. Within twenty years, witch hunting humans were popular and laws have been put out to restrict humans. Within forty years, humans weren't even considered citizens of a country. Within fifty years, the human population started to decline significantly. And in seventy years, humans were actively hunted down.

Eighty years from the epidemic, there was a woman in her mid-twenties in a small, isolated farm shed, giving birth to twins. There was a young man and two cyber-humans assisting her.

The woman died from complications.

The young man told the two cyber-humans to take the babies far away where the government won't find them and where they would live a comfortable life.

The two cyber-humans was named Zed and Natalie.

This is where the story starts.

I might write more but I don't have enough time right now.
