Islamic State claims responsibility for Orlando nightclub shooting

I am not arguing that guns should be removed from America, however I am raising the possibility that when you are allowing your population to buy weapons like that at will without much oversight then it is asking for trouble, especially as we are living in the world that you yourself described as full of violent people desperate to find ways to hurt each other.

Illegal guns will enter countries and attacks will still happen regardless, that is obvious - look at the France attacks. The difference with the Orlando is that the attacks were carried out with guns legally purchased days before the attack. Would that person have carried out those attacks if they didn't have such easy access to firearms? Nobody knows, but we can assume that there will be a percentage of attacks like this that would not go forward because the people would not have open access to firearms. Or they would use a knife instead of a gun, meaning that they kill five people instead of fifty.

People, like yourself, are saying that gun control is not relevant to this situation for whatever reason. In my opinion gun control is very relevant to this situation as it makes each mass shooting much more severe than similar events in other countries where guns are not involved. How many of these attacks in America don't involve gun shootings? Not many.

I am not saying you just ban guns and fix the problems. I am trying to say that gun control is relevant to the situation whether you believe it to be or not, it is a sensitive subject as guns are a part of American culture and have been for a long time and there is no easy answer about fixing it unfortunately.

Educating people is a good step in the right direction, but it is just as much of a pipe dream as "lets just ban guns" if you think it will magically solve the situation.
