ISPs Gave 8X More Cash to Politicians That Axed FCC Privacy Rule

You strike me as someone who wants to see this change, but is unwilling to dedicate time to it.

I don't feel that it would be an effective use of my time, which is a limited resource that I can never get back. I generally like to see results from my effort and this is one place where I just don't see it happening.

I trust that there's something you are passionate about and I encourage you to explore that instead of nay-saying something that you clearly aren't optimistic on.

Eh, I generally lost my passion for most anything years ago. There's no real large scale movement I associate myself with anymore.

This particular case shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone; these congressmen want laws to play a smaller role in corporate governance. Striking this bill aligns with that ideology. Without the campaign donations, the congress still would have voted to strike the rule - it just may have taken longer to come to their attention.

Which is exactly why I can't win. No matter who you elect they will wind up working for whoever has the money. And it has gone to the point that they don't even need to make donations as the legislators are 'true believers' and will work to make things better for the richest anyway as they're still very much in the corner of 'job creators' and trickle down economics.
