There is a shit ton of misinformation going on regarding the case. Amanda Knox repeatedly lied to police, blamed an innocent man for the crime and forensic evidence contradicts her story. So here are some facts of the case:

• Knox's first-of-several alibis for the night of the murder was that she was at her boyfriend (and co-defendant) Sollecito's house all night, sound asleep until 10 a.m. the next morning. Phone records show that this was a lie.
• Then Knox claimed she was in the house during he murder and knew who the murder was - her boss Patrick Lumumba, going so far as to describing the attack, ""He wanted her. ... Raffaele and I went into another room and then I heard screams. ... Patrick and Meredith were in Meredith's bedroom while I think I stayed in the kitchen. ... I can't remember how long they were together in the bedroom, but the only thing I can say is that at a certain point I remember hearing Meredith's screams and I covered my ears. ... I can't remember if Meredith was screaming and if I heard thuds but I could imagine what was going on."
• Lamumba was arrested for the murder until a hundred eyewitnesses placed him at the bar he owned the night of the murder.
• Knox and Sollecito called the police the day after the murder to report a "burglary" of another roommate's room, Filomena Romanelli, who was not at home at the time. Sollecito claimed on the phone to authorities that "nothing was stolen." This was not verified until Filomena was able to survey her belongings/jewelry to state that nothing was indeed taken.
• The window was allegedly broken to gain access to the room and the room was tossed in an apparent "burglary," yet the glass was found on top of the clothes that were strewn on the floor by the "burglar."
• When the police arrived to investigate the burglary, Knox and Sollecito lied to them and stated that the murdered roommate always locked her door "even to go to the bathroom," keeping police from investigating the other roommate's room where the body was.
• When Filomena arrived and found that Meredith's door was locked, she demanded that police break it down saying that Meredith never locked her door. The body was discovered when this happened.
• Knox's new alibi is that she was at Sollecito's apartment, which is contradicted by witnesses, phone and computer records. Her only alibi is her co-defendant Sollecito.
• Wounds on Meredith's body conclusively determine that she had multiple attackers.

The preponderance of evidence indicates that Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Sollecito lied repeatedly about where they were that night, lied about having knowledge of Meredith's sexual assault by her boss, lied to police about the door being locked, claimed knowledge about what wasn't stolen from the other roommate and were the first to report the fake "burglary." These are not the actions of innocent people. Amanda Knox is not being persecuted because she's a whore, owned sex toys or because she's an American in Italy. It was a travesty that she was found not guilty to begin with.
