We go beyond sterilizing dogs, and we fully remove their reproductive organs so that they don't grow into natural adults, and sexual frustration is the main reason. If we don't do it, they will want to mate all the time like any natural adult, and we don't want to deal with them wanting that, so we make them not want it. We also don't want them to be aggressive, and it helps with that. We are castrating them so they don't go through puberty and stay little sexless eunuchs, not just "so they don't make more dogs".
