I'm delighted to know that my mother was poorly catechized and that I shared the saving gospel of John 3:16 and that when she dies she will go straight to heaven because of Jesus' promise that whoever believes in him has eternal life. Eternal means forever, it means you can't lose it cause it's forever.

Masses for the dead are actually extremely beautiful and give us peace, grace, and comfort.

Joe will keep going to mass for his dead son, daughter, and first wife because he feels compelled to it's like OCD. Joe will have a melt down if he misses a mass for his dead loved ones because he thinks there will be negative consequences.

This just feels extremely mean and unnecessary
