Is it just me, or was Wards’ interludes more enjoyable to read than the actual story?

I couldn’t agree more. I have tried so many times to get into ward but I just find it painfully slow. It makes me so sad because Worm is literally a masterpiece in my opinion, I could not stop binging it and I have already reread it twice. I don’t know what the difference is per say, other than the dialogue being very stiff and awkward (something I’ve never noticed in any other WB story-I’ve seen people say it’s because all of the main characters are in Therapy, but it’s every single character across the board sounding weird and robotic) and somehow feeling as though nothing is happening at all when I know so much is going on....it’s difficult to describe. It has nothing to do with the themes being difficult or comparing it to Worm, I was overjoyed to see the different direction the story was supposed to take, for me it’s more like trying to read a textbook and finding it difficult to stay interested in the subject. Sigh. I weep.
