Keto Binge

I don't know what your macros are but I find that there are a couple reasons my body chooses to binge. I'm also recovering binge eating disorder, and I can't say that keto has "miraculously" solved them like other people on here have said before, but its definitely helped.

I find that doing too high of a deficit will cause me to binge eventually, maybe weeks later, because the extreme deficit is stressing my body so much. So my advice is to go for a low deficit, 20% deficit or less. There is eventually a day where I am not prepared and I don't have enough keto food on hand, so I fast a bit too long and end up binging when I get home.

Secondly, don't go too hard on yourself. You are recovering, it's requires more than a diet change but a mental change too. The bright side is you cheated on keto friendly foods, at least it wasn't chips, chocolate and pizza.

Finally I have to manage what triggers my binging. For me it is stress caused by particular things (for example before exams because of the stress and fatigue from studying). Reflect on your binge: why did you really binge? Did it really make you feel better/worse, or was it not worth it? If you aren't seeing results on keto, are you sure you are doing everything correctly?

Please don't get discouraged if you don't see "big" results, as long as you are following keto correctly you will see results in due time! I unfortunately binged myself twice in the last week and I had to ask myself these exact things, but I'm trying to think positively about it, and you should too!
