Gaza is one of the most densely populated places in the world and Hamas tends to use human shields (i.e. when Israeli agents warn civilians Hamas orders them to stay in place, Hamas also usually attacks from schools and hospitals to purposely make Israel look bad). And I said "high precision weapons", not "magical perfect weapons". You can expect a country to be careful with enemy civilians but you can't expect a country to choose enemy civilian lives over the lives of its own civilians. Rocket launchers must be attacked.

Such things sadly do happen. Usually the soldier gets punished if it reaches national news but it doesn't always and the army tends to try to hide such events. I am Israeli and I firmly believe the occupation must stop and I am not the only one, but reality complicates things.

Has to go through a minimum of four checkpoints a day

Occupation or not, the border wall and the checkpoints must stay because otherwise the terrorist attacks in Israeli cities will resume. There's just nothing that can be done, it's just necessary.

And no, Israel is not an apartheid state, unless you consider the west bank as a part of Israel.
