[Lacett] Matt Rhule on the mic. Says his job isn’t to pick the starting quarterback. That’s up to the players.

Is Rhule actually aware of what a coach does? At least conceptually with the broad outlines of the coach’s role and responsibility within the team?

I would have definitely started at QB on my high school team as I was, not to brag, a pretty popular guy. However, me throwing the ball could, at best, be aptly be described as launching a wet noodle through the air with the force of a malnourished 5 year old.

The coach not letting me start at QB was a smart move if the ultimate goal was to win games. And unless I’m confused about how the nfl operates, that’s generally the goal. If it’s not, I’m free to sign a contract with any team that desires my arm strength, a general lack of awareness, and the mobility of a shopping cart.
