Lawyers of Reddit, how do you argue without crying?

All these people suggesting that money is the reason litigators can argue without letting their emotions get the better of them are either not lawyers or are in the wrong profession.

Any advocate will know that the oral argument is an art. Your job is to sell a story, a theory. This is whether it is a minor application or a big appeal. It is a matter of strategy and skill. People don’t appear in court examining the issues for the first time.

Of course emotions are part of it, but a competent advocate will not let those appear without reason. You can get frustrated at injustice, incompetence or difficulty. But by the time you are arguing in court, you must have already dealt with those in preparation.
