Leaving a SOF unit to do a year in S. Korea and going back to same SOF unit?

Being airborne (or jumpmaster) and having the SOF enabler identifier can help your chances at getting back but don't guarantee it. A lot of branch managers dont like giving you multiple assignments at the same location or type of unit because that doesn't build "diversity" in experience. In my experience, the guys that are staying over 4 years at a SOF unit are only the GBs, not the enablers.

Lol wut? Pretty sure you dont know what you're talking about.. plenty of enablers stay their careers.

Having the S identifier pretty much fences you in to the community.. youd have to drop your S to get on the outside.

Overall though, OP gonna regret the fuck out of his decision if he leaves his unit to go to Korea..
