Life changing experience

The dominant neural network of your brain - otherwise known as the ego, has taken a shock because of your use of psychedelic drugs.

When you think of 'I' or 'me', it's actually this neural network doing the thinking. But the ego is not the leg, or the arm, or the subconscious aspects of your brain. It is really like the Prime Minister of your mind. If the Prime Minister of a country goes on holiday, the body doesn't collapse. It goes on running itself as it always has.

An ego is a good thing to have. It makes all your long term plans. It has your well being in mind. It is able to deal with all your relationships - it is the master of this, because the Ego must constantly deal with lesser neural networks vying for influence and control. When you talk to another person, it's really just one dominant neural network talking to another dominant neural network. But as you get older, and your ego suffers lots of emotional baggage, sometimes it can become a tiresome burden to endure. Sometimes people long for quietness. For peace.

So, your ego seems to be functioning okay, despite it's shock. But you also seem to have this new found ability to 'go into nothingness'. Is this a peaceful feeling? Maybe it is something worth cultivating and practicing?

Look, your ego is tough. Don't worry about it. But now you are aware that your conscious self is quite a weird thing, and normally people are not aware of it. All these processes can operate perfectly well on the periphery of consciousness, and it doesn't seem to matter much. But this isn't the case for you anymore.

It would probably be best for you to avoid psychedelics for a long while, if not indefinitely, and certainly avoid other intoxicants and stimulants. Just allow plenty of time to processs and integrate your experience, and you'll be okay.
