Lost with 135k salary / 120k downpayment

I agree with all of it. Stupid country to build a life in when everything is ridiculously expensive and out of range for most. I don’t have any family in Canada, my parents are in the US and rest of my family in India, I live in a low cost of living city in Canada with a six figure income office job and even here prices for decent homes in the good part of the city are shooting up. Even making a six figure income I can’t hope to get a home anytime soon in a nice part of my city, which is just ridiculous since it’s a small low cost city with a few bad areas. I’m four hours outside the GTA and home prices are now crossing million dollars despite most in the city being working class.

Unfortunately for me I’m the only one in Canada and I have no support here other than myself and life is getting tough, even with saving money smartly the prices for homes keep going up and up and getting more and more out of reach. Since I’ve been trying to save money I don’t have much of my paycheque to spend after bills but as home prices keep increasing it feels as if my savings become more meaningless. Without a place to call home, a home to build a family and future in, I see no reason to stay in Canada for much longer and keep contributing to a country that doesn’t and isn’t helping me. The reality is that people like you, I, and others have benefitted Canada far more than it’s helped us.
