Louisiana hospital staff stayed behind to care for 19 babies as Hurricane Laura hit

Harvey comes to mind immediately when I read this. I've been through Ike and Allison and Harvey was so different Especially bc I lived so close to the Medical District. Millitary vehicles and helicopters would come by and my apartment would shake and unfortunately water would wade in when the bigger vehicles went by. I found out later it was because another hospital was flooding so they were transferring patients.

We had just moved in a week or so prior so we pushed everything to the safest place in our apartment we could think of. Eventually we had to be rescued to stay at my sisters place because although we weren't flooded out too bad, everything around us was. No electricity plus limited food (just moved) wasn't going to work.

I can't imagine the extra layer of a pandemic on top of experiencing a cat 4 hurricane.
