I’m a Muslim, a woman and an immigrant. I voted for Trump.

I wrote that as a child of India, arriving in the United States at the age of 4 in the summer of 1969, I have absolutely no fears about being a Muslim in a “Trump America.” The checks and balances in America and our rich history of social justice and civil rights will never allow the fear-mongering that has been attached to candidate Trump’s rhetoric to come to fruition.

Says she can't afford Obamacare and is confident the US Constitution will protect her from the excesses of a Trump presidency.

As someone who grew up in the US at the same time, I would like to ask her if she ever thought the US would become a police state, spying on its own citizens and treating them like an occupying force. I certainly didn't, based on the political rhetoric circulating at the time. Only the Russians spied on their own people and used heavy-handed tactical responses to almost any incident. like a foreign occupation force.

I am sure the minorities in the Weimar Republic felt safe with the League of Nations overseeing the German government after the Great War.

Or did she think that the individual states would attempt to cut low-cost prenatal healthcare in an effort to oppose all abortions all the time?
