I’m only 20, and I’m already at the “my friends are getting married while I’m single” stage of my life.

Same position but four years older than you. I think what gives me comfort is the fact that I've focused heavily on an education and garnering professional skills for my career. I would say: focus on that which will make life a little more bearable later on.

Yes, I've always wanted to be out there with someone. Even at the moment of writing this I do. However, if marriage were added into my life right now, I don't think I'd be in a good position to fully focus on what matters for me. Eventually, I want to get into dating, but I figure that I need to begin building my life and developing an idea of where I want things to go. I imagine having a serious relationship with the prospect of marriage (and kids) right now would be too much stress and time consuming, so it's best to work out the fundamentals of my life before jumping into a relationship in which I would invest a lot of time and energy.
