Not knocking Elisabeth’s brilliant acting at all, but I have noticed that close up have been increasingly used in each season. Close ups of her character are imperative to the story as it is the handmaids tale and a lot needs to be expressed through minimal dialogue.

Season one to me had the perfect amount of close ups. I wish we could go back to that. But as the material and plot is starting to decline in value as seasons progress, it seems that there is an over-reliance on Elisabeth’s acting to try and counteract and cover up other weaknesses in the story telling. It works sometimes, but she can only do so much. This show can’t be solely carried by just her acting. The overused close ups are just now becoming more apparent to us because the show runners are spinning their wheels with this story.
