Marcus Ericsson to return to F1 duty in Pirelli test next week

  • Completely unsuccessful in four years of GP2.
  • Beaten by Kobayashi in 2014.
  • Beaten by another driver with a mediocre junior career, who's also a rookie AND a pay driver in 2015 and 2016 (To be fair, I'd say he was better than Nasr in 2016, despite having less points).
  • Convincingly beaten by a rookie in 2017, despite this, he keeps his seat while Wehrlein goes.
  • Eviscerated by another rookie in 2018.

I have a hard time understanding why people feel so bad for him, yeah he seems like a nice guy, but there's other drivers with similar junior careers or better junior careers who didn't get a seat simply because they didn't have the money.
