[MEGATHREAD] Cost of Living - Energy, Interest Rates, Inflation, Fuel, etc

Sorry for the low effort content here but I'm just feeling a little hopeless. My main question is, is the UK in as bad a state as people are making it out to be? There's no denying that there's a lot wrong with this country right now and people are suffering because of it, but as hard as I try to stop looking at headlines and buzzwords it just seems like every conversation about the UK is about a "failing government" and "record inflation" and "collapsing economy". I'm lucky enough to be in a safe and financially stable home right now, so that may affect my viewpoint. I'd just like to hear what people here think, I overthink things and worry about things a lot, so a lot of this may just be me doing that, but so many things I keep hearing and seeing are just making me think that the country is collapsing and we're all going to have to move out of the country or something like that. I'm sorry if any of this makes me sound very entitled, I don't mean to be that kind of person, this has just been on my mind for a while now.
