I never said it was unfair to upskill. I'm one of those who sought to improve himself.

Three times. Went back to school on my own dime. Learned new things. Got new skills. Got new certifications.

All three times I was told I could not get a job because I had zero experience in the new field and they don't count experience in my old field. And this is despite the fact I rocked in my old field and had tons of awards and kudos for my good work. The old field was not stable and I wanted out.

I was forced to return to my old field that I was trying to get away from.

I never said it is unfair that someone has to upskill. What I said it is unfair that people are not allowed to earn a living after they do.

And yeah, you are preaching employer infallibility very loudly.

You have yet to provide one solution to the catch-22 of no job, no experience; no experience, no job. All you do is just look down on the candidates who seek to improve themselves.

When employers refuse to look at transferable skills, what do you expect people to do?
