Men of Reddit, what kind of approach can women take through Social Media to spark genuine interest?

It's a crapshoot.

Make sure you have good profile pictures and your bio shows you're a real person. Don't be a boring weirdo. Same rule as you'd expect for men.

As for "breaking the ice," it's customary that men do that. This is simply because women tend to be in a seller's market until they hit 35. Men date on women's terms, so men have to prove they're worth her time. But if pickings are slim for you, then you're going to have to work harder. Just like you'd expect a dude to do.

Your opening statements should demonstrate an interesting personality or, at least interesting, common interests. Statements should be queried so that it generates more conversation. And you need to be chill, ie don't raise any red flags.

Most men don't know how to do this. And most women expect them to. But for some women, maybe this advice is useful too.

However, you can think of your profile as a dating resume.

The key qualifications men are looking for vary from individual to individual. But some pretty universal ones:

*good profile photos--a good range of different types of body shots and situations. No bathroom selfies, please. *don't be a weirdo *be concise but also show some genuine details and interests about yourself. Preferably not presented in a boring or narcissistic way.

And it helps A LOT if your physique in profile photos tells the story that you work out and have a healthy lifestyle. Because who doesn't like that?
