Merry Fucking Christmas: The Megathread

Just got home from Christmas dinner with his side of the family. It was actually alright, I quite like his nieces (I'm closer in age to two of them than I am his sisters). Food was delicious.

My only compliant was that at one point their dogs started barking when someone arrived. Which set off their stupid birds. So the birds and dogs are howling like crazy each. I'm not used to this noise. My dog is quiet, I hate birds. They're all used to it and tone it out.

I simply nudge SO cause he can see babe better from where he's sitting - his sister was holding baby - and ask "hes alright yeah?" Just simply ask that. Not stressed. Just a simple question wanting to make sure the noise didn't bother him cause it's not noise we're used to (and it bothered me!). I literally just wanted SO to look over at him, then say "oh yeah he's fine". That's it. Simple right? You'd think.

But nope. His mom is behind me. Hears me ask. Starts with "oh momma is worried about the baby momma wants the baby let's give the baby back to momma" I'm like "what no I just wanted to make sure the noise didn't bother him" - it didn't, he was happy in his aunts arms. So she rushes over and takes the baby out of SOs sisters arms and brings him back over, which of course then stresses him out. I'm like no it's okay she can keep holding him as she takes him out of her arms. SO steps in and takes him and holds him for a while, and so then they all turn to gushing over him finally having a baby and they never thought it'd happen.

But ffs you'd think I started screaming WHERE'S MY BABY or something like a crazed maniac. Cause I asked "he's alright yeah?". Chill out. I think she's too eager to please me now so she can see him more maybe hah.

Oh, and SO said she complained about the photos I've posted of him swaddled on facebook. "I just don't understand this swaddling thing I didn't do that when you were a baby!" He said he told her "things have changed in 30 plus years". Way to go SO! Hah. Gaining a bit more faith hell stand up to her.
