Michaëlle Jean (OIF) : «La Francophonie doit être partout où on ne l’attend pas» - OIF secretary general Michaëlle Jean: "Francophonia must be where it isn't expected" (FR)

You either ignored my point or missed it.

If you want Canada to become actually bilingual you NEED a REASON people LIVING AND WORKING WITHIN CANADA to speak french regularly, and not based off some bullshit they "might" get some niche government job or because they might, maybe, or could have some job overseas in Europe or Africa. if people want to go into those jobs they'll learn whatever language is required regardless of the countries education system, those thousands of Chinese entrepreneurs are learning the langue of their own will, they are not going into those jobs because of education mandatory by their country, the same applies here, it's not going to increase the amount of people who speak french and English because it's only going to apply to those small number of people entering those jobs, leaving out the several million others who WILL NEVER have a job that requires French.

Most people here in Canada have NO reason to learn french, we've been teaching people french all across Canada for decades and few of those millions of people have retained that knowledge by any meaningful measurement because they had no reason to continue using it.

With that little poke at being a bus driver, Exactly that, you have to fucking give a reason for the bus driver to give a shit about learning french because that bus driver makes up the majority of Canadians and jobs they do, French has NOTHING to do with driving that bus, it has nothing to do with that persons free time, or their life in their town, they have no reason to speak anything over the the majority language in their Region,

At best French will stay a small minority language within Canada for your reasons given, at worst it'll fade away over the next 50 years.

If people want french to grow you need some real reasons to make people retain and learn those languages, not some false hope with a niche job or bullshit cultural historical reasons.
