Millennials that are thriving in this economy are those with links to rich parents: The vast majority of other Millennials are mired in debt and unable to purchase homes.

I hate the argument that technology is going to kill all these jobs and everyone will be fighting over the scraps. I think because its been in the news cycle so much lately that everyone has bought into the hype. So here goes...... Everyone has been making that argument since the cotton gin was invented. Everyone made the same argument when we started the big industrialization of the late 1800's and early 1900's. The same idea of automation and machines will take peoples jobs is only a half truth. The whole point of industrialization , machines, automation ext... is to mass produce and make cheaper so that you can sell to the masses. That's the whole point of it. This means reducing time and labor. Yes it did kill some jobs. You didn't need a bunch of craftsmen making products by hand anymore thereby reducing labor costs. But the flipside is that you could produce a lot of a product cheaply allowing the masses to afford it. During the great industrialization, and after, you didn't see mass unemployment (except for the great depression, but that happened for many reasons) because of it. Employment actually went up because people could consume more and could afford things they didn't have. Think of the standard of living people had in 1870, as apposed to 1920. Flash forward to the 70's through the 90's and look at the personal computer and how many jobs that killed. It killed alot of jobs but did cause massive unemployment. No it actually increased it. It just made new jobs in place of the old ones, software, hardware, repair, internet, etc. And it increased the productivity of everyone and everything. Now take a look at your smart phone and think of every job that that killed. Camera industry, photo development industry, calculator industry, video camera industry, just about anything in print industry, people actually talking to other people with their mouth industry. But none of that caused a massive unemployment, new products just took it's place. So yes, new technology will kill jobs but new ones will take it's place. You're going to need alot of technicians to service the computers and automation of not just cars but everything automated.
