This is why millennials can't buy houses!

I was working at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario as a fixed term employee.

it's a long story but what had happened was I was being blamed for a new employees mistakes and i was explaining to this guy who had been working there for 30+ years what had happened and how the mistake happened.

So instead of listening to the words coming out of my mouth right in front of our supervisor he decided to assault me by grabbing my shirt aggressively (all I did was try and explain what the new employee did)

I went to tell my manager later in the day and explained how I was assaulted and how this is illegal.

I also told him I work 60+ hours a week and I like my job but I need to feel safe at work so something needs to be done.

He brushes me off and tells me he will have a talk with the employee.

At the end of my shift the very next day I get called into the office by the supervisor and told "We don't need you anymore because we are getting caught up on work so we are reducing your hours to zero"

So yeah that was the time I lost my full time job during a global pandemic because another employee assaulted me.

Btw the lcbo does not hire someone unless they have been a fixed term employee for 2+ years so it's a legal loophole that let's them permanently keep people on probation. (To clarify as a fixed term you work full time)

Oh one other thing they also refused to give me the unions contact information despite me asking several times. The boss came to talk to me and said "if you have no problems you don't need the union info"

Thanks LCBO what a great company
