Two teenagers attempted to leave nail salon without paying

I hear this point but it misses the difference.

Yes, I did a TON of stupid shit as a kid and a lot of kids my age did as well, this was pre cell phone days. We did it to make our friends laugh, the ones in our immediate vicinity.

Now, kids have the same impulses but also internet points and fame. The number one dream job kids say is influencer. How to start that career? Clout.

So now they have infinite ideas for shit to do whereas before it was what we heard or saw on the limited media we had to go off of or what older kids did or whatever.

Now they have infinite sources of shenanigans to get inspired by PLUS the added incentive of "clout".

Yes some things never change but we've poured gasoline on any existing fires by adding the internet and potential fame/reputation/clout/money into the mix w/ tik tok/snapchat/insta/fb/whatever other shit pops up.
