Models aren’t beauty “standards”. They’re exceptional, that’s why they’re models. If you compare yourself to them and feel bad, that’s on you.

Photos, videos, and makeup create an illusion of who the person is—from lighting to photoshop, to surgeries/fillers and to simply being photogenic (which does not always portray what someone looks like in reality).

Also, I have seen many ‘normal’ looking people look completely different with professional makeup. I am sure most models look pretty normal underneath the glam.

But I think one important factor is that models can have ‘conventional’ ‘standard’ beauty, but the standard definition of beauty is not always the most beautiful. The unique, unconventional features of someone can really be their highlights and how a person can make you feel contributes to how you look at them.

I find beauty can really lie in the eye of the beholder and is what you make of it when you look at a person. I find beauty in most people. I wish more people would see this, and realize that the norm of what people say is beauty shouldn’t be the limit and there should not be a scale of what is beautiful. I hope that makes sense!
