Mueller: If we had confidence the President did not commit a crime, we would have said so

We’re still pretty far from that being relevant to our current situation though. Not to shit on the 2nd amendment (or even start that debate all over again), but this would be a disproportionate response to the matters at hand. There isn’t any immediate violent threat to American civilians which would justify this. If we want people to stop labeling us as “crazy gun nuts” we have to prove them wrong by demonstrating restraint and logical thought when it comes to firearms. Using them as a prop to make a point just isn’t going to help that image. Especially when a lot of reporting on the issue of them is stacked against us pretty heavily by people who have close to zero real knowledge of firearms or safety procedures.

I agree that our current political future looks like a dumpster fire covered in a cheap spray spray tan. I also agree that this situation may have grown large enough that the public should be in the streets to remind these people who they work for. Let’s just make sure that your opinions aren’t dismissed by someone looking for a reason to discredit them at face value, because this would make that pretty easy.
