Mum with stage 4 cancer and expat life

So sorry to hear about that. My mother was stage 4 when she was diagnosed. And she went on to live another 13 years after being given 6 months to live. I was living overseas a lot of the time but was able to go back quit a bit. So I'm glad I didn't pick up and go when she was first diagnosed. I was able to support my sibling who went with my mother to her appointments.

But for my mother it was a long war and not a single battle. So if you make all your decisions based on what you think may be a short time, it could take over your whole life. I'm glad I didn't drop everything and move back. But it was a little of a unique situation. She was an outlier for how long she lived and I was able to go back and forth fairly easily until the last 6 months when I stayed there most of the time.
