Muslim schoolboys who refused to shake hands with female teachers lose appeal: Case at school near Basel sparks fierce debate across Switzerland

You live in a democracy. You do decide by voting for people to represent what you believe.

Yes. And the people has voted for people that says no to discrimination based on gender, no matter if you claim it's your religious right to do so. The people has spoken.

If you're lazy enough to not care about the philosophy of a just punishment, then why are you arguing it with someone who does?

Because you're assuming I'm against the death-penalty because of the "sanctity of life", wich I'm not -- as I've stated numerous times. I'm against the death-penalty because we have a imperfect justice-system, and until it's perfect, I'll continue to be against it.

You're trying to point out a supposed hypocrisy, when there is none. If I were against the death-penalty on the basis of the "sanctity of life", you'd have a point, but I'm not.

Instead of deflecting the question. Why not answer if you think 4000 dollars is a fair punishment?

I think the punishment is fair.

Do you always agree with what your government does?

In this case, I do.

I don't see what harm was done to warrant a $4000 fine in this instance.
