My collection that I spent 100+ hours editing that got no love. Demoralized af

They don't allow galleries in here so click my profile and it's on there. As for doing it for myself, that's kind of what I did. I considered this my "thesis" project as I never went to school for photography. Ive grown a ton in this profession over the last 5 years since starting with no degree. I had this idea in 2018, and actually did a shoot for the Green background but did not like how it turned out. So 3 years later of being a full-time photographer, I revised it.

It just sucks that I spent over $1k on booking studio, models, extra gear needed. Then another $1k on IG and FB promos (I plan to mold my company into a one-stop shop for creating and advertising media for other local companies in LA so IG presence is paramount to my success not clout chasing). After all this, and me being happy with how it turned out, it still feels like I'm stuck behind a paywall or something to get any traction on those fronts. I also hoped to sell some prints of this collection and so far that has failed miserably.

So sorry if I come off as spoilt or something. But I really poured my heart and soul into this project from Dec-Feb, and only to receive mediocre (very expensive) traction. I submitted it to r/makeupaddiction and they deleted it after 1k upvotes because I linked my Instagram.

But I get it, maybe I'm just the romantic artist with his first taste of defeat. And this comes off as a "woe is me" thing. But it's honestly been a shit year for artists everywhere and this is just piling on
