My dad who is a minister once kicked out my gay sister 12 years ago and the entire family shunned her. I tracked her down last month when i left home and she was homeless until now. Christians love i guess.

My parents were talking about someone at their church and his behaviour as if it were normal.

he had two children, I can't remember if one was a gay son or what the problem with that one was, but I remember the other daughter being a stripper.

Like most members of my parents church, this individual is very well off. Think middle class. instead of doing what Jesus would do, and donating his money to a good cause or charity, since he does not believe in leaving his money to his children this is what he does:

He goes out and buys a brand new car. He drives it off the lot and drives it until the value stops dropping drastically. as soon as the values dropped drastically and the decline has started to normalize, he trades the vehicle in and gets another.

while you could consider this charity to the people who will be buying these used cars, it's stupid. People buying used cars don't need a deal on an expensive luxury every option included vehicle.

there's lots of homeless and mental health issues in my city, he could be donating money to that.

Just a little bit more context for my parents who think this behaviour is okay. My father enjoys a comfy retirement earning $70,000 a year, Canadian, through his pension. You will hate him if you know what his job was like, it was very laid-back. At first he was dealing with Punch cards for a very old computer server system. Then he was doing printing services and taking payments for dial-up internet. eventually both those services were moved elsewhere or discarded and I think for about the last ten years of his job he basically just watch TV and played on the internet. the university where he worked dragged their feet getting rid of his department after it was useless.

They lord their money over me. they helped me when I absolutely need their financial assistance, but they always make it sound like they are barely getting by when just recently I discovered the $70,000 a year pension... This is probably more than I will ever make working. I wouldn't be surprised if I just find myself managing at low level jobs like retail and foodservice for the rest of my life because that seems to be the only kind of job I can get. I don't see myself making any more than 30 or $40,000 a year. And my parents act like the income inequality between us doesn't exist, or like it's all my fault and it's not the economy
