My parents are ANGRY that I want to ride.

I got my first bike when I was 12 - a Honda z50. My mom freaked, but my dad was like, "the boys gotta learn". When we upgraded to a couple of 80s, my mom freaked, but my dad was like, "they learned, let them have fun." When I got my motorcycle license, my mom freaked. My dad said nothing other than, "be careful." When I started touring and coming back with photos and videos and stories of all the things I'd seen, my mom freaked. My dad said, "show me." Now I'm 50. I do month long tours with my wife around the world ... my dad died, and my mom stopped freaking out and says, "show me." They are your parents, they love you, it's their job. Go all the way you can with your education, get that job, start a responsible good life ... get that training and the bike you want. They'll still freak but once they see that you're ok they'll want to share in your experience. That's also their job. P.S. I should also say that I'm the "bad uncle" ... gimme one of my nieces or nephews and I throw them on an old CBF 125 I have laying around to teach them ... and my siblings freak. It's the cycle of ... (motor)cycles.
