My therapist hinted at starting an affair to fix my sex life.

Well, I did oversimplify it a bit but for one, men tend to prioritize their own happiness more than women do in general. If they are unhappy in a relationship, men are more likely to leave whereas women tend to be more selfless and prioritize their partners needs above their own.

Two, generally speaking, men tend to need sexual gratification more than women do in a relationship, although this varies quite a lot.

Three, have you ever heard of the book "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" by John Gray, Ph. D? I highly suggest you read it. Very commonly, men and women absolutely have different wants and needs in relationships. Pretending they don't is a bit ignorant.

Four, men and women normally also have different love languages. That's another book you should read, "The Five Love Languages, the Secret to Love that Lasts" by Gary Chapman. It will give you great insights into how men and women are quite different when it comes to what love means to them.

Hope this helps.
