Netherlands looks to ban all gas, diesel car sales by 2025

Ron Paul honestly would not have fared all that badly in The Netherlands. His anti-war rhetoric was all fine and well but his economic doctrines was pretty much the same kind of neo-liberal economic shock doctrines that some guy like current Prime Minister Mark Rutte seems to exemplify. Imagine that Ron Paul got a love child with Mitt Romney, then imagine this guy is also a gutless coward and vice roy that just is there to rubberstamp EU policy and redirect millions / billions of money to unsustainable struggling EU countries at the behest of that same supranational organization, and you pretty much have this guy described to a tee.

Sad thing about it though, these policies don't even work, but they pretty much get applied through brute-force without much consideration of how this should even be applied in a society that has been decidedly a socialist welfare state for decades.

What you eventually get in the end is some amalgamation of America and European society that in the end might just be worse than American society itself, since at least the tax burden in America is not to the extreme it is in your typical European country, and the social safety nets that used to be provided to citizens as a fair exchange for the high burden are being gutted severely to the point where they might as well not exist.

America might indeed start to look like a safe place to immigrate to if things get much worse. Societal stability that is massively going down the drain is one of the most immediate issues right now, and in that regard I'd rather take my chances in a country where you at least have the right to defend yourself instead of some idiotic regime where a bunch of crazies can pick up AK47s in Molenbeek, then cross the border (since there's no border security), shoot the place up, with even the police being ill-equipped to defend themselves against guys like that since they barely can even shoot with the government-issued Berettas they carry on them. Neither does this policemen even have much inclination to help you as is, mind. If 'participating' and 'negotiating' with your burglar or would-be rapist doesn't work, they 'might' be able to investigate your case after you are six feet and under. That is the ugly reality of 'Dutch society' : people just dont' care, snobbism is through the roof, and people invent reasons for not giving a shit about one another, whether it has to do with money, class, or their employment situation.
