I never noticed I was a binge eater

give yourself grace. it is going to take time and patience with yourself. you know you’re trying, you know you want to change so try to not beat yourself up about it. it is also going to take some mental strength to not give in to the urges. i think it is important to try and figure out what may be triggering it. it can help you work on finding alternatives to switch your brain from going straight to food for comfort.

some big things that helped me: - moderation is key - food does not always have to be good or bad like some people will show in social media. there is food that is better for you than other types of food but doesn’t mean you must never ever touch it if you want to be healthier or lose weight. that’s just my opinion. everyone has different definitions of what healthy really is. this could be a whole other conversation lol - the food will still be there if you stop now without finishing it all. it isn’t going to disappear overnight (i usually binged at night). and if it did somehow, it wasn’t meant to be haha idk that’s how i approached it. - pouring out the serving size (or how much you want) and putting the food away helped me from going back for seconds or blindly finishing the whole bag. it gives you a minute to evaluate how you’re feeling and what your body is telling you. if you’re still actually hungry, get some seconds. but if the food was just amazing and you want to eat it all, try to distract yourself because you’re not going to feel good later if you continue to stuff your body beyond comfort. - listen to your body - slow down. i was (and still am sometimes) a quick eater. i didn’t realize this until i focused on it. i would hardly chew food before, but now i’m more aware of it and will try to slow down a little. appreciate what you’re eating yk

scared of making this toooo long lol so please feel free to message me! you’ve got this. it’s going to be okay, but this is not going to happen overnight or magically go away.
