New Fed Chair Doesn't Understand Why Student Debt Can't be Discharged in Bankruptcy

We aren't offering other terms to people; that's part of my point. And again, undue burden has nothing to do with voluntary or not. NOTHING. Not one thing. That's just not what the word "undue" means.

Undue burden standard.

Redefining a colloquial definition and repeating it over and over doesn't make it true. "Undue burden" has everything to do with being voluntary, and everything to do with there being many many avenues to reduce individual debt.

1/3 of Americans never go to college. Try explaining student loans as an undue burden to a skilled tradesman some time and hope they only laugh at you.
