2.0 Lore

During the rebellion of the House of Wolves against the Awoken Queen of the Reef, some members of the Awoken defected to fight under the Wolves’ banner, swearing allegiance to their Kell. Together these forces worked to capture the heavily-guarded Prison of Elders from the Queen’s forces, hoping to free the Wolves imprisoned inside and lead them into battle to claim the rest of the Reef.

They succeeded in taking over the Prison, but unfortunately soon learned that there was worse than merely Wolves trapped inside the asylum’s twisting walls. Inside the Prison, a certain strain of madness-inducing drugs was inflicted upon the inmates to keep them in line, driving most of them insane and causing the haphazard formation of a new Fallen house: the House of Chains.

During the capture of the Prison, the interior was badly damaged, resulting in most of the Chained Fallen breaking free and roaming about inside, able to access the prison armoury. The Wolves succeeded in shutting the Prison’s great gates, but find themselves caught between the House of Chains’ mad assault and the Guardians ordered by the Queen to cleanse the Prison. They are prepared to fight to their own bloody deaths, but are nothing compared to the horrors created by the House of Chains within the Prison’s walls, a mechanical god powerful enough to warp the perceptions of reality of those around it.
